Know Your Rights

The following are some quick know your rights facts:

  • As long as you have been living in Denver for 30 days, you are legally able to vote.
  • Voting does not change your residency to Colorado, nor does it effect your insurance, or the ability for your parents to claim you as a deductable
  • YOU MUST present your student I.D. or a Colorado Drivers Liscense (no out of state) at the polls. It is illegal for the polling location to reject your DU ID, and it is illegal for them to ask for another form of ID.
  • If it is your first time voting, and you are using a mail in ballot, you must attatch a photocopy of your ID.
  • There will not be police, INS, or any other form of police or official watchdog at the polls. You run no risk of being arrested just for voting.

We will be having a Know Your Rights Session on Tuesday October 14th at 7:00PM. Location to be announced. The statewide Colorado Lawyer for the campaign will be there to set the records straight!
