DU Students for Barack Obama is not funded by the University of Denver. In order to be more effective on campus, we buy signs, banners, buttons, and through events and programs to both engage students and to help them take action. In order to sustain our mission, we are looking to raise money.
Make The Most Difference For Your Dollar
Colorado is the closest, and therefore most important swing state in the election. In 2004 President Bush carried Colorado by only a few thousand votes, the difference being the Republicans had a few thousand more registered voters. I am proud to say that in the past months we have closed the gap of registered voters, and Colorado contains a virtually even amount of registered Democrats and Republicans! In order to win the election, Senator Obama has to carry one swing state, and currently Colorado is one of his best bets.
The race in Colorado will come down to a couple thousand votes. If we register all University of Denver students to vote, we can literally swing the state, and win the election for Senator Obama!!

As an individual student organization we can accept funds, without being accountable to national campaign finance laws, mainly because we are our own entity, and all decisions are ours to make. We have zero overhead, since we only utilize student volunteers, so you can rest assured that every penny you donate will go directly towards student activism.
